The Madhyabindu Municipality in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapurb) has given a 50% subsidy for transferring tractors to farmer groups and cooperatives. This means they are helping them with the cost of getting tractors. The Mayor of Madhyabindu Municipality, Bhim Lal Adhikari, said that this subsidy is for farmers who cultivate more than 20 bighas of land (around 13.33 acres) and are part of farmer groups or agricultural cooperatives.
The Madhyabindu-7 Autonomous Agricultural Cooperative Limited transferred a tractor to the Kolkata Farmer Group in Madhyabindu-15. They also made sure the tractor had the necessary permits and insurance. The municipality and the groups covered the cost of buying the tractor, which was 700,000 Nepalese Rupees. The Agricultural Development Branch’s Agriculture Officer, Akshay Wagley, provided this information.
The subsidy provided by the municipality will benefit the local farmers who are part of the self-reliant agricultural cooperative during the primary paddy cultivation season. The Chairman of the cooperative, Deepak Pangeni, mentioned that this support would help the affiliated and marginalized farmers.
The Mayor mentioned they are in the final phase of implementing the Agricultural Ambulance program. This program aims to help farmers transport their agricultural products easily from the fields to the local collection centers and markets. They will provide agricultural ambulances for this purpose.
